About No Finer Eye
No Finer Eye is a magazine of poetry, fiction, essays, art, photography, and music. We publish several times a year and read year-round.
In this era of high-volume, hurry-up content, we're looking for the thoughtful work: the kind of art that persists, resisting the instant-scroll. We have no house subject and no house politics; we have a house attention.
Every piece here was read by a human editor. An assistant helps us keep pace with the submissions and the fine-motor work of publishing, but AI never decides, and it never speaks to you on our behalf.
We do accept AI-generated content. While we acknowledge (and in part share) the concern and discomfort about AI in art, we don't believe that head-in-the-sand is a legitimate editorial posture; and furthermore, AI can enable people to create deliberate and thoughtful art that they could not have otherwise produced. It also enables people to create awful things. Such is technology.
Right now, our only staff is our managing editor, David Habib. That will change.
